Audio of French skier Yannick Bertrand hitting a course flag in the groin during a ski race, used for painful fails and slapstick reaction clips.

This short clip captures the sharp slap and pained reaction as a race flag whips into Yannick Bertrand's groin at speed. The impact lands with a crisp thwack against ski clothing, followed by the skier's immediate discomfort as momentum carries him past the gate. It is brief, physical and instantly readable without any visual context. Viewers recognise the pain straight away, which makes the moment land as slapstick rather than serious injury. The contrast between the fast, controlled run and the sudden, awkward hit is what gives the sound its comic timing.

The clip comes from televised ski racing footage of French skier Yannick Bertrand, whose run turned painful when a gate flag struck him in the groin. Shared online under titles like Ski Horror, the moment was trimmed down to just the impact and reaction and circulated as a standalone joke sound. Its appeal is simple and universal, built on a clear cause and effect that needs no explanation. It remains popular for fail edits and reaction posts where a short, painful slap says everything.
