There's some chit-chat on how it could've been the most common OS instead of Windows, Mr.Gates himself once said it was going to be smth big. IBM halted support Dec31ˢᵗ 2006, making it obsolete, but it still lurks in the shadows - it's been reported on some ATMs in the US, was used by NewYork's underground rail network until 2024, & 2 other vendors (w/ IBM's license) supported OS/2 with new names, graphics, compatibility tweaks - eComStation under SerenitySystems(2001-2011) & ArcaOS under ArcaNoaeLLC(since 2017).
