O tym dźwięku

The Wilhelm Scream is a famous stock movie sound effect recorded for Distant Drums, now used to punctuate falls, impacts, and comic disasters.

The Wilhelm Scream is a brief, high-pitched human yell used as a stock sound effect in films, television, games, and internet edits. The roughly one-second clip rises sharply, wavers, and cuts off with a distinctive strained finish. Editors usually attach it to a fall, explosion, collision, or off-screen mishap. Because generations of filmmakers have reused the same recording, audiences often recognize it immediately. That familiarity can turn an otherwise dramatic moment into a playful cinematic reference while still communicating sudden pain, panic, or spectacular failure.

The recording originated during a 1951 sound-effects session for the film Distant Drums. It later appeared in The Charge at Feather River (1953), where a character named Private Wilhelm screams after being struck by an arrow, giving the effect its nickname. Sound designer Ben Burtt revived it in Star Wars, and filmmakers began treating it as an audio in-joke. Online, it remains recognizable shorthand for exaggerated peril, alongside modern clips such as the FNAF jumpscare scream.
