O tym dźwięku

The classic “Dave’s not here” line from Cheech and Chong’s door-knocking comedy routine, used for missed arrivals, wrong doors, and confused replies.

This short voice clip captures the endlessly repeated misunderstanding at the center of Cheech and Chong’s famous Dave routine. A visitor tries to identify himself through a closed door, only to receive the flat response that Dave is not there. The humor comes from the circular exchange, frustrated delivery, and complete failure of recognition. Its abrupt timing makes the line feel like a perfectly deadpan rejection, giving viewers an immediate punchline whenever someone arrives late, contacts the wrong person, or cannot make themselves understood.

“Dave’s Not Here” comes from Cheech and Chong’s early comedy work, specifically the sketch “Dave” on their self-titled 1971 debut album. The routine follows a man trying to get through a locked door while the person inside repeatedly misunderstands him. Its simple setup and memorable repetition made the line widely quoted long before online soundboards and social media. Short audio excerpts later became useful reaction clips because the response works without much context and delivers an instantly recognizable rejection.
