This sound is a short clip of the instantly recognisable opening lyric from Drake's song Hotline Bling: 'You used to call me on my cell phone.' It has a smooth, melodic delivery that lands somewhere between singing and speaking, which makes it catchy even in very short edits. Because the line is so well known, it quickly signals late-night texting, old relationships, or someone suddenly reappearing. In memes and video edits, it usually adds a mix of nostalgia, irony, and dramatic recognition the moment the clip starts.

This sound comes from Drake's hit song Hotline Bling, released in 2015. The opening line became especially memorable through the song's huge chart success and the widely parodied music video, which helped turn it into a lasting internet meme. Online, people use this clip to reference old flames, awkward late-night calls, and someone from the past reaching out again. It remains popular because just a few words are enough for viewers to recognise the joke and the emotional setup.
