Erik Doe Rustig is a short Dutch voice clip of unknown origin telling Erik to calm down, used in memes and edits when someone overreacts online.

This brief voice clip features someone saying “Erik, doe rustig,” a Dutch phrase meaning “Erik, calm down” or “Erik, take it easy.” The direct delivery makes it sound like an immediate attempt to stop Erik from becoming too excited, angry, or chaotic. Because the recording lasts just over two seconds, it works as a quick reaction without interrupting the pace of a video. The familiar command and named target give the audio a playful, personal quality, especially when it is applied to exaggerated behavior or escalating situations.

The original speaker, recording context, and first upload of this short Dutch audio are not clearly documented. Online, it circulates as a compact reaction meme built around the phrase “Erik, doe rustig,” which translates roughly as “Erik, calm down.” Its humor comes from applying a specific personal warning to unrelated people, animals, game characters, or chaotic scenes. The clip remains useful because its meaning is easy to understand from context, while the name Erik gives otherwise ordinary calm-down edits a distinctive punch line.
