The famous 'Surfin' Bird' meme audio made popular online and by Family Guy, used in chaotic edits, punchlines and absurd reaction videos.

This clip features the instantly recognizable 'bird is the word' section from the novelty rock song 'Surfin' Bird.' It has a frantic, repetitive vocal delivery and a deliberately annoying, high-energy feel that quickly takes over a scene. Because the phrase is so simple and the performance is so over-the-top, the sound lands as absurd, chaotic and weirdly catchy at the same time. Viewers usually recognize it as a joke audio that turns a normal moment into something random, relentless and intentionally overdone.

The audio comes from 'Surfin' Bird' by The Trashmen, released in 1963. It reached a much wider meme audience through repeated use in Family Guy, especially the running joke built around Peter Griffin insisting that 'bird is the word.' Since then, the clip has stayed popular in remixes, shitposts and reaction edits because the phrase is instantly recognizable and annoyingly catchy. It still works well when creators want a joke to feel sudden, repetitive and deliberately ridiculous.
