이 사운드에 대하여

A loud distorted scream paired with the confused line what is this, used as a meme reaction for shocking, cursed or completely baffling moments online.

The clip opens with a bewildered voice asking what is this before a heavily distorted scream erupts and overwhelms the audio. The scream is pitched, clipped and blown out, turning a normal yell into a harsh wall of noise that feels both funny and startling. That sudden jump from confusion to chaos is the whole joke. It plays like someone seeing something so wrong or unexpected that language fails and only screaming is left, which makes the moment land instantly in edits and reaction videos.

This sound circulated as a standalone meme clip on user soundboards after creators struggled to find a clean version elsewhere, as noted by the original uploader. With no confirmed source film, game or creator attached to it, its popularity comes entirely from the edit itself rather than a franchise. The pairing of a confused question and an exaggerated distorted scream became a reusable shorthand online, shared in short form videos, Discord servers and meme compilations whenever something looks cursed, broken or impossible to explain in words.
