A bass boosted version of the welcome.wav startup sound from osu, turned into a loud distorted greeting clip for intros, memes and gaming edits.

This is the familiar welcome.wav greeting from the rhythm game osu, pushed through heavy bass boosting until the clean startup chime becomes a loud, distorted rumble. The original welcome is short and bright, but this version clips and shakes with low end, making a normal login sound feel absurdly intense. Listeners hear the recognisable melody underneath the boom, which is why it works as a joke intro. It lasts just over five seconds, long enough for the boost to build, peak and cut out, leaving a punchy hit for edits and streams.

welcome.wav is the startup audio file from osu, the free rhythm game first released in 2007, where players click circles to the beat of songs. Its short greeting became familiar to anyone who opened the game regularly. Bass boosted edits spread through gaming and meme communities in the late 2010s, when creators exaggerated harmless sounds for comic effect. This version follows that trend, taking a polite login cue and making it sound huge. It remains popular as a joke welcome for streams, Discord calls and edited intros among osu players.

What is the welcome.wav bass boosted sound?

It is a heavily bass boosted edit of welcome.wav, the short startup greeting sound from the rhythm game osu. The boost distorts the low frequencies so the normally clean welcome becomes a loud, rumbling joke version used in memes and intros.

Where does welcome.wav come from?

welcome.wav comes from osu, a free rhythm game first released in 2007. It plays as a greeting when the game starts, and players who open osu often recognise it instantly, which is why bass boosted edits of it spread as an in-joke.

How do creators use this sound?

Creators place it at the start of videos, streams or voice chats as an exaggerated welcome. Because the bass is clipped and very loud, it works best as a short intro hit on its own, not underneath talking or music.
