This sound is a short excerpt of All Star by Smash Mouth, the upbeat pop-rock track many people instantly connect with Shrek. It has bright guitars, a punchy beat, and the familiar energetic feel that makes a clip land fast even before the lyrics fully register. In edits and memes, it works like a shortcut to early-2000s nostalgia, goofy confidence, and broad comedy. The moment this audio starts, viewers usually recognize the reference and expect something playful, ironic, or unmistakably Shrek-coded.

All Star was released by Smash Mouth in 1999 and became even more widely recognized after appearing prominently in Shrek in 2001. Even when the audio is only a brief snippet, people often identify it as the Shrek song immediately. Its staying power comes from that fast recognition and from how easily it turns an ordinary edit into a familiar joke.
