The Kurt Angle chant is the crowd singing you suck over his WWE entrance music. Creators use it for wrestling edits, roast moments and reaction videos.

This clip captures the famous crowd chant that follows Kurt Angle's entrance theme, with fans timing the words you suck to the driving brass and guitar riff. The chant is loud, rhythmic and unmistakably playful rather than genuinely hostile, turning a heroic Olympic gold medalist persona into a pantomime villain for a few seconds. You hear the arena sing it in unison, each repetition landing right on the beat of the music. It instantly signals wrestling nostalgia, mock disapproval and crowd participation, which is why a short burst works so well as a comedic put down.

Kurt Angle won Olympic gold in freestyle wrestling in 1996 before joining WWE in 1999, where his patriotic entrance theme Medal became one of the most recognisable in wrestling. During his run as a smug villain, crowds began chanting you suck in time with the theme's main riff, and Angle played up his annoyance at it. The chant stuck for the rest of his career, following him into TNA and his WWE return in 2017, and fans still sing it as affectionate nostalgia rather than a real insult.

It is the crowd chant of you suck sung in time with Kurt Angle's WWE entrance music, Medal. Fans time the two words to the theme's riff, turning his heroic entrance into a playful arena singalong.

Where does the Kurt Angle chant come from?

The chant developed during Kurt Angle's WWE matches in the early 2000s, when he was playing an arrogant villain character. Crowds fitted the insult to his entrance theme, he reacted angrily on screen, and that reaction helped make the chant a permanent part of his entrance.

How do creators use the Kurt Angle chant?

Creators drop it over entrances, confident speeches and failed attempts where someone needs a playful put down. It works best on the beat of an entrance or reveal, kept short so the crowd chant lands like a punchline instead of background noise.
