이 사운드에 대하여

A short cricket chirp clip, often used as an awkward silence reaction or dead joke cue in memes, edits and prank-style videos.

This clip is a brief cricket chirp, the familiar high, rhythmic insect sound people associate with a silent night or an empty pause after a bad joke. Because the audio is so short and instantly recognisable, it works as a comedic reaction that makes a moment feel extra awkward, unimpressed or totally dead. Viewers usually read it as the classic "nobody laughed" cue, so even a tiny gap in dialogue can suddenly feel much funnier or more uncomfortable when this sound drops in.

This sound is commonly used online as the classic awkward silence reaction, usually labeled as a cricket chirp or cricket cry. Its exact upload source here is unclear, but the effect itself has long been part of comedy editing because audiences instantly connect chirping crickets with emptiness and no response. Short versions spread widely in memes, video edits and soundboards where creators need a quick cue for failed jokes, uncomfortable pauses or scenes that suddenly go quiet.

자주 묻는 질문

What is the Kricketune sound?

It is a very short cricket chirp clip, used mostly as a reaction sound. People add it after a joke fails or when a scene goes quiet to emphasize awkward silence and zero response.

Why do people use cricket chirps in memes?

Cricket chirps are widely understood as a comedy shorthand for silence, emptiness or nobody reacting. That makes the sound perfect for edits where someone says something embarrassing, unfunny or completely ignored.

How should I use this sound in a video?

Use it immediately after a punchline, awkward statement or unanswered message. Keep the surrounding audio sparse so the chirp reads clearly, and pair it with a pause, blank stare or cutaway for the strongest joke.
