A short voice clip of a man introducing himself with the line 'I'm Keith', used as a deadpan self-introduction or reaction in memes and short videos.

This is a brief, matter-of-fact voice clip in which a man introduces himself simply as Keith. Delivered in a flat, unhurried tone, the line lands with a kind of deadpan confidence that makes an otherwise ordinary introduction feel unexpectedly funny. There is no music, no background noise and no build-up, just the name stated plainly, which is exactly why it works as a punchline. Heard out of context, it can sound like a character reveal, a confident entrance or a joke about someone taking themselves very seriously, and that ambiguity lets viewers project their own meaning onto it.

Little is publicly documented about the original recording behind this clip, so it circulates mainly as a short, shareable sound rather than as a quotation from a widely known show or film. On soundboards and in short-form video, it is used as a quick self-introduction, a deadpan entrance cue or a tongue-in-cheek way to name a character. Its brevity makes it easy to drop into edits, and its plain delivery keeps the focus on the moment itself rather than on any larger story behind the voice.

What is the "I'm Keith" sound?

It is a short voice clip in which a man introduces himself by saying 'I'm Keith' in a flat, matter-of-fact tone. The humour comes from the plain delivery, which makes a simple introduction sound unexpectedly confident or deadpan.

How do creators use the "I'm Keith" sound?

Creators usually drop it when a character appears, when someone introduces themselves, or when a scene needs a deadpan entrance. It works best once, at the start of a moment, rather than repeated throughout a video.

Why is the "I'm Keith" sound funny?

It is funny because the delivery is so ordinary. A name introduction is not normally a punchline, but the confident, unhurried tone turns it into one, especially when it appears suddenly or is paired with an exaggerated reaction.
