A short creepy voice clip saying I'm here behind you, used in horror edits, prank videos and reaction memes for a sudden surprise from behind.

This is a short spoken clip built around the unsettling line I'm here behind you, delivered in a low, close voice that sounds as if someone has just appeared over the listener's shoulder. The words are clear and unhurried, which makes the threat feel calm rather than loud, and the brief silence around the phrase lets it land before any music or reaction follows. In a video it creates an instant chill, turning an ordinary scene into a moment of dread, because the viewer imagines a presence they cannot see. It works best when the camera, character or audience is looking the wrong way, so the reveal feels unexpected.

The phrase itself is a familiar horror and prank setup, and this short clip circulates online as a standalone soundboard entry that creators can drop into edits without needing the original scene. Its appeal comes from its simplicity: four words are enough to suggest a hidden presence, a jump scare or a joke about being watched. Because the line is easy to recognise and easy to place, it has found a second life in short-form videos, gaming highlights and reaction edits, where a sudden voice from behind is often funnier or scarier than a visual effect alone.

What is the I'm here behind you sound?

It is a short voice clip in which someone says I'm here behind you in a low, close voice, creating the feeling that an unseen person has appeared just behind the listener.

Where does I'm here behind you come from?

No single film, show or creator is clearly documented as its source, so it is treated online as a standalone soundboard clip. Its popularity comes from the phrase itself, which instantly suggests a hidden presence behind someone.

How can I use I'm here behind you in an edit?

Place it just before a character turns around or a scare is revealed, keep the music low, and leave a short pause after it. The quiet delivery works best when the audience is not expecting a voice from behind.
