A short good smell clip from the Chinese zhenxiang meme, used when someone swears they will never try something and then clearly loves it. For ironic reversals.

This brief one-second clip captures the moment of giving in to something delicious, with a warm, satisfied tone that lands instantly even without any context. It sounds like a small, knowing reaction rather than a full speech, so it works as a punchline on its own: the speaker has clearly changed their mind and is enjoying it. Played over a tasting, a reveal or a reluctant first bite, it turns hesitation into comedy, letting viewers feel the reversal in a single beat and making the scene feel playful, self-aware and instantly shareable.

The phrase behind this clip is zhenxiang, a Chinese internet meme that grew from a reality television moment in which a participant first refused local food and later ate it with obvious enjoyment. The contradiction became shorthand online for saying one thing and doing the opposite, especially about food, games and trends people claimed to dislike. Clips and captions spread through social media and video edits, and the sound is still used to mark a playful U-turn rather than a serious change of heart.

What does good smell mean in this meme?

It means 'really fragrant' or 'really delicious' in Chinese, but online it is used ironically when someone enjoys something they previously rejected. The humour comes from the sudden reversal, not from the smell itself.

Where does the zhenxiang meme come from?

It comes from a Chinese reality television moment in which a participant refused local food and later ate it enthusiastically. The contrast was shared widely online and became a lasting shorthand for changing your mind.

How should creators use this sound?

Use it at the exact moment of reversal, such as the first bite or the first try, rather than during a long introduction. It works best as a short punchline for food, reactions and ironic opinion changes.
