이 사운드에 대하여

A drawn-out ghost groaning sound from Phasmophobia, used in horror edits, jump scare clips and spooky gaming memes to signal a nearby threat.

This clip is the long, breathy ghost groan heard in Phasmophobia, stretching into an eerie aaaaaaa-like wail. It has a hollow, human-adjacent tone that sounds distressed without becoming a full scream, which makes it unsettling in a slower, creeping way. In videos, it works as a warning sign that something paranormal is close, and it instantly gives footage a haunted, abandoned-room feeling. Because the sound rises and hangs for a few seconds, it builds tension well before the visual payoff lands.

This sound comes from Phasmophobia, the co-op ghost hunting game released in 2020 by Kinetic Games. Players recognize it as one of the ghost vocalizations that can play during tense encounters, making it memorable beyond the game itself. It spread through gameplay clips, streamer highlights, and horror compilations, where creators used it to signal an approaching scare. The clip still gets reused because it is short, clear, and instantly reads as supernatural without needing any visual context.
