The FNaF scream jumpscare sound effect from Five Nights at Freddy's, a loud animatronic shriek used for horror edits, pranks and sudden scare moments.

This is the sharp animatronic scream that plays when an animatronic catches you in Five Nights at Freddy's. It starts as a distorted electronic shriek layered with a harsh metallic roar, loud enough to fill the whole mix in under a second. There is no build up or music underneath, just the sudden burst and the character lunging into frame. Viewers feel it as a physical jolt because the volume jumps from near silence to maximum. That instant shock is why the clip works even without the game footage attached.

Five Nights at Freddy's launched in 2014 as an indie horror game built around security cameras and power management, with animatronic characters that move when unobserved. The jumpscare scream became its signature punishment for failing to close a door in time. Clips of players reacting to it spread quickly on YouTube and streaming platforms, turning the sound into shorthand for any sudden scare. It remains popular because audiences recognise it instantly, even years later, and creators borrow that recognition for parodies, edits and fake jumpscares outside the game.

What is the FNaF scream jumpscare sound?

It is the loud animatronic shriek from Five Nights at Freddy's that plays during a jumpscare when a character reaches the player. The distorted scream is paired with the character lunging at the camera to end the night.

Where does the FNaF jumpscare scream come from?

The sound comes from the 2014 horror game Five Nights at Freddy's by Scott Cawthon. It triggers when an animatronic like Freddy, Bonnie, Chica or Foxy catches the night guard, and its volume is designed to startle players after quiet surveillance gameplay.

How do creators use the FNaF scream in videos?

Creators place it at a sudden reveal, a fake calm moment or a friend's reaction shot to get an instant scare or laugh. It works best used once, at full volume, with silence before it so the jump feels unexpected.
