A Portuguese sports radio clip from Rádio Globo with the phrase Fique de olho no apito, used by football fans to call out referees and highlight bad calls.

This is a brief excerpt from a Brazilian sports broadcast on Rádio Globo, built around the Portuguese warning 'fique de olho no apito,' which means 'keep an eye on the whistle.' Delivered in the brisk, emphatic style of live football radio, the voice lands the phrase with urgency, as if alerting listeners that the referee is about to become the story. It is only a few seconds long, but the direct address and football language give it instant recognition for Brazilian supporters. Played after a foul, a penalty, or a disputed decision, it adds tension, humour, and a nod to anyone who has argued about a referee's call.

The clip comes from Rádio Globo, one of Brazil's major radio broadcasters, and belongs to a short series identified by the number two in its title. Its Portuguese phrase, which tells listeners to watch the whistle, fits the language of Brazilian football commentary, where refereeing decisions often dominate the conversation after a match. Short radio excerpts like this travel easily because they are direct, recognisable, and tied to a shared frustration with officials. Football fans reuse it in highlights, debates, and memes whenever a decision feels unfair, keeping the warning current long after the original broadcast.
