"Finish Him" comes from the Mortal Kombat series, where the announcer says it at the end of a match to prompt a finishing move. The line became one of the franchise's most recognizable audio cues after the original game's arcade era in the 1990s. Online, it spread far beyond fighting game fandom because the phrase is simple, dramatic and instantly understood.
