The short 'Do the roar' quote from Shrek Forever After, used in memes and reaction edits when someone wants a loud, awkward or absurd payoff.

This clip is the brief, instantly recognizable line "Do the roar," delivered in a flat, demanding way that makes it funny on impact. It is extremely short, so it works like a sharp button at the end of a joke or as an interruption in a reaction edit. The humor comes from the contrast between the simple request and the weird intensity behind it. Viewers usually read it as awkward, chaotic, or oddly aggressive, which is why it lands so well in meme videos, character compilations, and sudden cutaway jokes.

This quote comes from Shrek Forever After, the 2010 animated film in the Shrek series. In the movie, a child repeatedly asks Shrek to roar, creating a moment that viewers remembered for its strange insistence and uncomfortable comedy. Online, the line spread through meme edits, short reaction videos, and Shrek compilations because it is so short and easy to drop into a joke. It is still used when creators want a sudden, recognizable movie quote that signals awkward pressure or absurd escalation.
