This short disgustanggg sound effect is a drawn-out vocal reaction of disgust, used in memes and reaction videos for gross, cringe or disappointing moments.

The clip is a single, stretched-out vocalisation that turns a simple word for disgust into a dramatic groan, with the final syllable dragged out until it almost collapses into a sigh. It sounds sarcastic rather than genuinely shocked, which is why it lands so well as a reaction: the speaker is not just grossed out, they are theatrically over it. Played over a bad food choice, an awkward text, or a failed attempt at something cool, it instantly tells the viewer that what just happened was unpleasant, embarrassing, or deeply unappealing, without needing any explanation.

Disgustanggg circulates online as a short reaction sound rather than a line tied to a single famous scene, which is part of why it travels so easily between platforms. Creators use the elongated spelling to signal that the disgust is exaggerated and knowing, a joke in itself rather than a serious complaint. At just over a second long, it works as a quick punchline in TikTok edits, YouTube reaction clips and meme compilations, where a longer rant would slow the joke down. Its staying power comes from that flexibility: almost any unpleasant surprise can be capped with it.
