The urgent Boeing terrain pull up alarm warning pilots of low altitude, used in aviation videos, flight simulator edits and dramatic cockpit scenes.

This is the sharp, synthetic cockpit warning that tells a Boeing crew to pull up immediately when the ground proximity system detects terrain ahead. A commanding automated voice repeats the pull up instruction over a rising alarm tone, creating instant tension because listeners recognise it as a last-second emergency call. The clip lasts about seven seconds, long enough for the warning to repeat and build urgency without losing its impact. In edits it works as a sudden danger signal, turning an ordinary descent, landing approach or risky manoeuvre into a moment that feels critical and hard to ignore.

The pull up warning comes from the ground proximity warning systems fitted to commercial airliners, which alert crews when an aircraft is dangerously close to terrain during descent or approach. Aviation enthusiasts and flight simulator players began sharing clean recordings of these cockpit alerts, and editors soon borrowed them to add realism to virtual flights, cockpit recreations and aviation explainers. The sound remains popular because it is instantly recognisable, even to people who have never flown, as the voice of a serious in-flight emergency.

✦ AI

What is the Boeing terrain pull up sound?

It is the automated ground proximity warning heard in Boeing cockpits when an aircraft gets too close to terrain. The voice repeatedly says pull up, telling the crew to climb immediately and avoid a collision.

Where does the pull up alarm come from?

It comes from an aircraft's ground proximity warning system, which monitors altitude and terrain below the plane. When the system detects a dangerous descent or approach, it triggers the pull up instruction to warn the flight crew.

How do creators use this sound in videos?

Creators place it over flight simulator footage, cockpit views or dramatic descents to signal sudden danger. It works best as a short, isolated warning, often with music lowered, so viewers immediately understand that something has gone wrong.
