The sharp 'Betrayal' announcer cue from Halo: Reach, used in edits, fails and friendly-fire clips when a teammate turns on their own side.

This clip is the brief in-game announcer callout for a betrayal in Halo: Reach. It is a short, clean voice line with a stern match-announcer tone, delivered almost instantly after team damage crosses the line into a kill. Because it is so quick and recognizable, it lands well as a punchline for backstabs, accidental sabotage, or any moment when trust falls apart. The sound gives a clip an immediate multiplayer-gaming feel and adds that split-second sting of being called out in public.

This sound comes from Halo: Reach, where the game announces a betrayal when a player kills a teammate in modes with friendly fire. Short announcer cues like this spread easily in gaming edits because they are instantly readable even outside the original match. Online, creators use it as a reaction sound for sabotage, disloyalty, and accidental friendly fire moments. It still shows up in multiplayer meme videos because the single word delivers the whole joke with almost no setup.
