A loud belly flop splash sound effect of a body hitting pool water flat, used for painful fails, clumsy jumps and funny summer wipeout moments.

This is the unmistakable smack and splash of a belly flop, starting with a flat slap as skin hits the water followed by a big churning splash and bubbling settle. The impact sounds painful and clumsy at the same time, which is why it lands as comedy rather than a clean dive. It instantly tells the viewer someone misjudged the jump, went in completely wrong, and paid for it. Short, loud and very visual, it works even without seeing the pool because your brain fills in the red belly and the wince.

Belly flop sounds have long been a staple of slapstick, from poolside home videos to cartoon dives where the joke is a landing that goes completely flat. Online, creators reuse this splash and smack as a shorthand for any failed jump, awkward fall or overconfident leap into water. It spread through fail compilations, sports blooper edits and meme videos because the sound alone signals embarrassment without needing explanation. It remains popular for summer clips and reaction edits where a clean dive would be far less funny.
