이 사운드에 대하여

The iconic sampled drum break from The Winstons' 1969 track Amen, Brother, often used in music edits, beat remakes and meme audio references.

The Amen Break is a short solo drum passage best known for its fast, punchy groove, crisp snare hits and rolling fills. Even in a very short clip, it carries a lot of rhythmic energy and instantly gives a track or edit a classic sampled feel. Listeners often recognise it from old-school hip-hop, jungle and drum and bass, where its chopped beat became one of the most reused sounds in music history. On video, it adds momentum, nostalgia and a sense of sudden rhythmic lift without needing any vocals.

The Amen Break comes from the 1969 B-side "Amen, Brother" by The Winstons, built around drummer G. C. Coleman’s now famous six-second break. It was heavily sampled in hip-hop, then became foundational to jungle and drum and bass in the late 1980s and 1990s. Its spread came from crate digging, sampling culture and later internet music communities. It remains popular because the groove is instantly recognisable, highly editable and deeply tied to the history of loop-based production.
