このサウンドについて

✦ AI

A short TikTok to be continued sound with a brief yk vocal sting, used to freeze a moment just before a fail, surprise reveal or awkward cliffhanger.

This is a very short cliffhanger sting built around a clipped yk vocal hit and the familiar to be continued pause. The sound lands abruptly, cutting the action off mid-flow instead of letting it resolve, which is exactly why it feels funny. Viewers instantly read it as a freeze-frame ending: something has gone wrong, something embarrassing is about to be exposed, or the worst part is still to come. Its brevity keeps the joke tight, letting the image on screen do the storytelling while the audio signals that the story stops here, for now.

The to be continued format began as the episode ending in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, where a yellow arrow froze the final frame, and it spread online as the JoJo to be continued meme for cliffhanger jokes. Shortened versions later circulated widely on TikTok, stripped down to a brief vocal hit and pause that creators could drop over any video. This yk variant follows that trend, keeping only the abrupt stop. It remains popular because almost any fail, dare or awkward moment becomes funnier when the ending is deliberately withheld.

What is the yk to be continued sound?

It is a short TikTok cliffhanger clip built around a brief yk vocal hit and an abrupt stop. Creators place it on a freeze frame to imply a fail or reveal is coming, without showing what happens next in the video.

Where does the to be continued meme come from?

The format comes from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, whose episodes ended on a freeze frame with a yellow to be continued arrow. Online creators copied that ending, then shortened it for TikTok and other short video edits and memes.

How do you use the yk sound in an edit?

Put the sound at the exact moment the action should stop, freeze the last clear frame, and hold it briefly. It works best for near misses, awkward pauses and failed attempts where withholding the outcome makes the joke land harder.
