A long, dramatic wailing scream sound effect that stretches out in pitch and panic, used in memes, reaction videos and edits for over the top distress.

This is a single, drawn out human scream that starts loud and keeps going, wobbling between a wail and a yell until it runs out of breath. The pitch rises and falls instead of staying flat, which makes it feel panicked, pained and a little ridiculous at the same time. There is no music or background noise, just the raw voice taking up the whole clip. That exaggeration is why it lands as comedy rather than horror, instantly signalling that a character is overwhelmed, horrified or dramatically overreacting to something small.

Clips built around a single elongated scream have circulated on soundboards and meme pages for years because the sound needs no context to read as distress. This version is shared purely by its phonetic title, with users searching the stretched spelling to find the exact wail. It belongs to a wider family of reaction screams used in short form video, gaming highlights and chat soundboards. Its popularity comes from its length, which lets editors stretch a joke reaction far beyond a normal scream and keep the tension building.
