Its urgent orchestral arrangement, strong percussion, and rising melodic phrases create the feeling that an important bulletin is about to begin. TV Patrol began airing as a Philippine television news program in 1987, and its opening music became closely associated with urgent headlines and evening broadcasts. Repeated use across televised editions helped make the theme familiar to generations of viewers.
