The door chime heard on Toronto TTC subway trains just before the doors close, warning passengers to stand clear. Used in transit edits and city vlogs.

The TTC door chime is a short, bright three-note warning tone recorded from a Toronto subway train, played in the seconds before the doors slide shut. It opens with a clear, slightly metallic ding, followed by two rising notes that feel polite but urgent, instantly signalling that it is time to step back or hurry aboard. For anyone who rides the Toronto transit system, the sound triggers instant recognition, a small jolt of city familiarity and the familiar rush of a closing door. In videos it works as a clean audio cue that sets a scene in Toronto without any explanation.

The chime comes from the Toronto Transit Commission subway system, where it plays inside trains to warn riders that the doors are about to close. Regular commuters in Toronto hear it countless times a day, which is why it has become a shorthand for the city itself in online videos. Creators outside Toronto also use it whenever they need a clean, recognisable transit sound, and its short, polite tone keeps it useful for both realistic scenes and light comedy about rushing for a train.
