このサウンドについて

The famous 'ogres are like onions' quote from Shrek. People use this Shrek meme sound in edits, reactions and jokes about layers or overexplaining.

This sound is the well-known Shrek quote about onions, delivered in his blunt, slightly frustrated style from the animated film. It has a talky setup and a memorable punchline, which makes it easy to drop into a joke without much context. The clip usually lands as a mix of wisdom and absurdity, because Shrek compares ogres to onions with total seriousness. That contrast gives videos a playful, self-aware tone, especially when someone is explaining themselves, getting too deep, or making a joke about having emotional layers.

This sound comes from Shrek, the 2001 animated film featuring Mike Myers as Shrek. The onions speech became one of the movie's most quoted moments because it turns a strange comparison into an instantly recognizable joke. Over time, the line spread through meme culture, reaction videos, and short-form edits as a shorthand for having emotional or personal layers. It still gets reused because even people who have not seen the full movie usually recognize the setup and know the joke is about depth, complexity, or oversharing.
