Football fans chanting Scheiss Hannover, a rivalry chant from Eintracht Braunschweig supporters aimed at their rivals and used in derby edits and memes.

This is a raw stadium chant where a crowd shouts Scheiss Hannover in unison, loud, rhythmic and provocative, with the voices swelling and falling together like a terrace chorus rather than a single speaker. The German words land as a blunt insult aimed at a rival club, so the clip feels confrontational, tribal and instantly recognisable to football fans who know the Braunschweig and Hannover rivalry. Played over a video, it turns an ordinary moment into a derby taunt, adding aggression, humour and crowd energy in a few seconds, and it works best when the listener understands that the chant is about football loyalty, not a literal argument.

The chant comes from the Lower Saxony football rivalry between Eintracht Braunschweig, often shortened to BTSV, and Hannover 96, two clubs whose supporters have a long-standing and hostile derby relationship. Scheiss Hannover is sung by Braunschweig fans as a direct taunt, not as a song about a player or a match, and it is usually heard amid crowd cheering in stadiums, on away days and in fan videos. Online, short clips of the chant circulate as a quick way to signal Braunschweig loyalty, mock Hannover and set the tone for derby content.

What does Scheiss Hannover mean?

It is a German football chant that translates as a blunt insult directed at Hannover, used by rival supporters rather than as a neutral song. In English, scheiss is a coarse word for excrement, so the chant is deliberately rude and provocative.

Which fans chant Scheiss Hannover?

Eintracht Braunschweig supporters, often identified by the abbreviation BTSV, use it against Hannover 96. The chant signals loyalty to Braunschweig and hostility toward their Lower Saxony rivals during derby matches and fan videos.

How can creators use this sound in a video?

Use it briefly over a derby moment, a rival mistake or a Braunschweig celebration, and let the crowd chant carry the joke. Keep the clip short, avoid covering it with commentary, and save it for football or rivalry content where viewers will recognise the reference.
