このサウンドについて

A short clip of a man named Ryan letting out a loud, high-pitched scream, used as a funny reaction sound in meme videos, edits and group chats.

The Ryan scream is a brief, raw recording of a young man yelling at full volume, starting sharp and staying high as the sound stretches for almost three seconds. There is no music or background polish, just a single strained voice that cracks slightly with effort and fills the whole clip. That intensity is what makes it funny out of context. Played over a minor fail, a scare, or an exaggerated reaction, it turns a normal moment into pure panic and makes the reaction feel far bigger than the situation deserves.

Little is known about the original recording behind the Ryan scream, which circulates online simply under that misspelled name and as a generic reaction clip. Shared through soundboards and short video edits, it became useful because the yell is instantly readable even without any visual context. Creators reuse it as shorthand for panic, pain or comic overreaction, often cutting it in at the exact moment something goes wrong. Its lack of a clear source has helped it fit almost any joke.
