The opening bars of Eminem's Lose Yourself, the motivational rap anthem from 8 Mile, often played before rugby matches to fire up players and fans.

This short clip captures the instantly recognisable opening of Eminem's Lose Yourself, with its tense piano riff and driving beat building beneath his urgent, determined delivery. The sound is all nervous energy and focus, the feeling of a single chance that cannot be wasted, which is why it lands so powerfully as a warm-up or entrance track. Even in just a few seconds, it creates a sense of pressure, grit and self-belief, turning an ordinary moment into something that feels like the start of a big match or a decisive challenge.

Lose Yourself was released by Eminem in 2002 as the lead single from the soundtrack to 8 Mile, the film in which he played aspiring rapper Jimmy Smith Jr., known as B-Rabbit. It became one of his most successful songs, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song, and its theme of seizing a single opportunity made it a lasting motivational anthem. Sports teams, gym playlists and highlight videos adopted it for pre-match build-up, and short clips of its opening continue to circulate online whenever creators want instant intensity and determination.
