Chorus clip from Rihanna's dance hit Where Have You Been, with the soaring vocal hook and electronic drop people use for edits and party videos.

This is a loud, high-energy excerpt from Rihanna's Where Have You Been, built around her repeated question in the chorus and the pulsing electronic beat underneath it. Her voice climbs over synths and a driving dance rhythm, creating a sense of searching and excitement that peaks as the drop hits. The clip captures the most recognisable part of the song, the moment the melody opens up and the bass takes over. It feels urgent, euphoric and instantly familiar, which is why a short boosted section works so well on its own.

Where Have You Been was released by Barbadian singer Rihanna in 2012 as a single from her 2011 album Talk That Talk. Written as a dance-pop and house track, it features production influenced by Calvin Harris, who also worked on the album's hit We Found Love. The song reached the top ten in many countries and became a staple of clubs, radio and workout playlists. Online, its chorus and drop have been clipped, boosted and reused in edits, remixes and short videos long after its chart run.

What song is this sound from?

This clip comes from Where Have You Been by Rihanna, a dance-pop single released in 2012 from her album Talk That Talk. It uses the chorus section, where she repeats the title question over a rising electronic beat before the drop.

Who sings Where Have You Been?

The vocal is by Rihanna, the Barbadian singer known for hits like Umbrella and We Found Love. Her clear, urgent delivery in the chorus is the hook of the track, paired here with synths, house beats and a boosted bass drop.

How can I use this clip in a video?

Use the question in the chorus as a build-up, then cut to new footage, a reveal or a dance moment when the drop arrives. It works best in short edits where the music carries the scene without extra dialogue over the vocal.
