Harry S. Plinkett's flat, deadpan 'oh' from RedLetterMedia's reviews, a short reaction clip used for awkward reveals and failed jokes in memes and edits.

The clip is a single dry 'oh' spoken by Harry S. Plinkett, the deadpan reviewer persona from RedLetterMedia, captured in his low, raspy, slurred voice. It lands flat and unimpressed, with almost no rise or fall in pitch, like a man too tired to be surprised. Because the delivery is so muted, it works as a comedy deflator: it punctures hype, undercuts a dramatic moment, or answers an obvious question with weary indifference. Viewers hear it as the sound of mild disappointment and quiet judgment rather than shock. It feels familiar to fans of the review series and reads as sarcasm even to people who have never seen the videos.

Mr. Plinkett is the fictional, deadpan reviewer created by Mike Stoklasa for RedLetterMedia, best known for the feature-length Star Wars prequel reviews released around 2009 and 2010. Short reaction snippets of his mumbling delivery circulate widely on YouTube, in video essays, and on meme soundboards, where editors lift his sighs, asides, and flat interjections. The exact one-second 'oh' has no documented single source moment and is best treated as a floating reaction sample. It endures because the character's weary, unimpressed tone is instantly recognizable to film fans and works as shorthand for disappointment.

Who is Mr. Plinkett, and who voices him?

Mr. Plinkett, full name Harry S. Plinkett, is a fictional reviewer played by Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia. The flat 'oh' is delivered in his persona: an older, mumbling, deadpan character famous for long Star Wars prequel reviews.

Which video does the Plinkett 'oh' come from?

It comes from RedLetterMedia's Plinkett review videos, where the character reacts to film clips with flat interjections. No single famous scene is documented for this exact one-second 'oh'; it circulates as a generic reaction sample taken from his mumbling commentary style.

What is the best way to use the Plinkett 'oh' in an edit?

Creators use it as a deadpan punchline after something unimpressive, like a failed stunt, an obvious twist, or a weak joke. Its flat tone undercuts hype, so it works best alone with a brief pause rather than layered under music.
