The classic Charge fanfare played on a ballpark organ at baseball games, used to rally the crowd and hype up a big play or late comeback moment.

This is the short ballpark organ version of the Charge fanfare, the familiar six note melody that builds quickly and ends with a shouted Charge in stadiums. Played with bright, punchy organ tones, it feels instantly recognisable even in just over two seconds. The rising notes create anticipation, like a batter stepping up or a team needing one more run. Listeners expect action right after it, which makes it perfect for adding instant sports energy, tension and a playful, old school stadium atmosphere to any scene.

The Charge fanfare dates to 1946, when Tommy Walker wrote the six note call for University of Southern California football games. It spread quickly through American stadiums and became a baseball staple, often played on organ between pitches to prompt fans to shout Charge together. Television broadcasts, films and cartoons helped fix it in popular culture beyond sports. Online, creators reuse it as instant shorthand for rallying a team, often layered over crowd cheering, and its short length makes it easy to drop into edits, streams and memes.

What is the Charge ballpark organ sound?

The sound is a short organ recording of the Charge fanfare, a six note melody played at baseball and other sports games. It builds quickly and prompts fans to shout Charge at the end, creating a rally moment.

Where does the Charge fanfare come from?

The fanfare was written in 1946 by Tommy Walker for University of Southern California football games. It spread to professional stadiums across the United States and became especially associated with baseball organists and crowd participation during close games.

How do creators use the Charge sound effect?

Creators place it just before a big play, reveal or challenge to build anticipation in a few seconds. It works best on its own or over crowd noise, and looping it or burying it under music weakens the rally effect.
