A short Portuguese voice clip saying péssima contratação, used to mock a terrible football signing, bad hire or any disappointing new addition.

The sound is a brief spoken Portuguese phrase, péssima contratação, delivered as a blunt verdict meaning terrible signing. The delivery is flat and dismissive, like a commentator or frustrated fan closing the discussion in under four seconds. There is no music or buildup, just the judgment landing immediately. That directness makes it funny when paired with an underwhelming reveal, because the clip treats a new arrival as a failure before they have had any chance to prove themselves on screen or on the field.

In Brazilian Portuguese, contratação is the word used for a sports signing and also for hiring an employee, which gives péssima contratação its double punchline. Online, the short clip works as a ready-made verdict that needs no explanation among Portuguese speakers. It appears under transfer news, squad announcements and workplace jokes, often timed to the exact moment a name is revealed. Its brevity and harsh tone keep it reusable, because viewers understand the joke from context even when the signing, hire or addition changes completely.

What does péssima contratação mean?

It is Portuguese for terrible signing or awful hiring. Péssima means very bad, and contratação is used for signing a player or hiring an employee, so the phrase delivers an instant negative verdict in just a few words.

Where is the péssima contratação sound from?

The exact original recording and speaker are not confirmed from the available information. The clip circulates as a short Portuguese reaction sound online, valued for its blunt delivery rather than a known scene, character or broadcast moment.

How do creators use this sound?

Creators place it immediately after a signing, hire or character reveal they want to mock. It works best with a short pause before playback, letting the audience register the announcement before the Portuguese verdict undercuts it completely.
