このサウンドについて

A short 'mimimi' whining meme sound used to mock complaining or nagging in reaction edits, joke videos and chat posts online.

This clip is the classic short 'mimimi' sound people use to imitate someone whining, sulking or complaining. It usually comes across as a nasal, sing-song mumble rather than a real word, which makes the joke land fast even in very short edits. Creators drop it right after an overreaction, excuse or rant to instantly frame that moment as childish or dramatic. Because it is so brief, it works like a punchline button that turns ordinary dialogue, captions or awkward pauses into a sarcastic reaction.

The 'mimimi' meme sound is widely used online as shorthand for whining or self-pity. Rather than pointing to one clear modern source, it spread through short-form meme culture, reaction videos and reposted edits where creators needed a fast audio cue for mock complaining. Its staying power comes from how instantly recognizable the tone is, even without context. It often appears in the same style of exaggerated reaction editing as Chipmunk Laugh, where a tiny sound effect changes the whole mood of a clip.
