このサウンドについて

A short Ça puire voice clip from the French comedy Les Visiteurs, used in memes and reaction edits to express disgust at a smell or unpleasant situation.

This brief dialogue clip captures the exaggerated medieval-style French humor associated with Les Visiteurs. The speaker blurts out “Ça puire,” a deliberately awkward way of saying that something stinks. Its unusual phrasing and blunt delivery make the moment instantly comic, even without the surrounding scene. In an edit, the line creates a quick reaction of disgust, suspicion, or disapproval. The short duration also makes it effective as a punchline after showing bad food, a messy room, an embarrassing mistake, or anything presented as especially unpleasant.

Les Visiteurs is a 1993 French fantasy comedy directed by Jean-Marie Poiré and starring Jean Reno and Christian Clavier. Its story brings medieval characters into modern France, creating humor through culture shock, physical comedy, and old-fashioned speech. The phrase “Ça puire” reflects that deliberately archaic, grammatically comic style. Short extracts from the film remain popular in French-language memes and reaction edits because their expressive delivery works as an immediate punchline, while the movie continues to be widely recognized as a major French comedy.
