The old New York Islanders goal horn sound effect, a loud arena blast played after home goals, used by fans for hockey edits and celebration clips.

This is the classic goal horn once used by the New York Islanders, a deep, blaring arena horn that erupts the moment the puck hits the net. It builds with a sustained, powerful blast that fills the rink and signals an instant celebration. The tone is raw and slightly harsh compared with modern horns, which is exactly why longtime fans remember it. Hearing it triggers the feeling of a home crowd jumping to its feet, arms raised, as the goal light spins and the scoreboard changes.

The New York Islanders used several goal horns during their years at Nassau Coliseum, and this older version became a favourite in fan recordings and arena sound collections shared online. Unlike the smoother horns adopted later, it has a rougher, more mechanical blast that longtime supporters associate with earlier eras of the franchise. Clips of the horn spread through hockey forums, video edits and soundboards, often paired with crowd cheering after a goal. It remains popular because it captures a specific period of Islanders hockey that fans still celebrate.
