このサウンドについて

The Crypt Keeper laugh from Tales from the Crypt, a raspy horror cackle used in spooky edits, jump scare memes, and Halloween videos.

This sound is the Crypt Keeper's signature laugh, a scratchy, high-pitched cackle with a gleefully creepy tone. It has that classic horror-host energy: theatrical, mischievous, and a little disgusting in the best way. The laugh usually lands as a punchline after something dark, ironic, or unexpectedly gross, making a scene feel campy rather than truly terrifying. Because it is so recognizable, it works well in horror memes, Halloween clips, and edits where you want to signal evil satisfaction, creepy humor, or a knowingly over-the-top scare.

The laugh is associated with the Crypt Keeper, the puppet host of Tales from the Crypt, the HBO horror anthology that aired in the late 1980s and 1990s. His cackling delivery became one of the character's most memorable trademarks and helped define the show's mix of horror and dark comedy. Online, the clip survives because it instantly signals old-school spooky camp rather than realistic terror. Creators still use it in Halloween posts, horror jokes, and exaggerated creepy reaction edits.
