このサウンドについて

Abe's falling scream from Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, often used in gaming edits and fail clips when a character drops, dies or panics.

This clip is Abe's signature death scream from Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, a sharp, stretched-out yell that kicks in as he falls or gets taken out. It has a slightly goofy but still desperate tone, which makes it land somewhere between comedy and panic. In edits, the sound instantly sells a failed jump, sudden drop or badly timed mistake. Because the scream is so recognizable to retro game fans, it adds a nostalgic punch while also making the moment feel louder, more dramatic and more ridiculous.

The scream comes from Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, the 1997 puzzle platformer starring Abe. Online, it became a familiar reaction sound for falls, deaths and botched jumps, especially in gaming videos. It was also widely associated with TearOfGrace, whose use of the clip helped introduce it to a newer meme audience beyond players who knew the original game. The sound still gets reused because it is short, instantly readable and funny without needing any setup.
