Informazioni su questo suono

The eerie synth motif from Annihilation's alien scene, widely used in memes, horror edits and uncanny videos to make a moment feel deeply unsettling.

This clip is the haunting audio cue associated with the alien encounter in Annihilation. It builds from a low electronic drone into a warped, metallic synth pattern that feels cold, unnatural and slightly hypnotic. The sound does not rely on a jump scare; instead, it creates slow dread and a sense that something impossible is unfolding on screen. That is why creators use it when a video turns weird, cosmic or emotionally detached, especially in edits that need an eerie, intelligent kind of fear rather than loud horror.

The sound comes from the score for the 2018 film Annihilation, specifically the track linked to the movie's alien sequence. Online, that cue became a recognizable meme sound because its synthetic tone instantly signals dread, strangeness and something not quite human. It spread through short edits, horror memes and surreal reaction videos, where creators use it to frame a reveal as disturbing rather than loud. Its staying power comes from how quickly listeners recognize that cold, otherworldly mood.
