Informazioni su questo suono

The classic Super Mario Bros. Game Over jingle from the NES platformer, used in gaming edits to mark a failed run, defeat, or comical loss.

This short cue is the familiar defeat jingle associated with Super Mario Bros. It plays as a compact, descending video game melody, delivering a clear sense of failure without dialogue or extra effects. The tune is brief enough to land like an audio punchline, while its nostalgic 8-bit tone makes the setback feel playful rather than severe. In videos, it instantly tells viewers that a run has ended, a plan has failed, or someone has made an embarrassing mistake. Its recognizable cadence also works well as a comedic hard stop.

The Game Over cue comes from the original Super Mario Bros., released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, with music and sound composed by Koji Kondo. It accompanied the end of a failed game session and became familiar through the title's enormous reach. As gameplay videos, streams, and short-form edits grew, creators reused the jingle as shorthand for defeat. It remains effective because listeners understand its meaning almost immediately, much like the later Roblox oof, while its concise 8-bit melody leaves room for a visual reaction.
