The Smosh Faaake sound effect is a loud shout of fake followed by a metal clang, used as a reaction when someone calls out a lie or staged video.

This is a short callout clip built around an exaggerated shout of fake drawn out for comic effect, immediately followed by a sharp metallic hit. The delivery is loud and theatrical rather than angry, which makes the accusation feel like a joke instead of a real argument. It lands best as an instant verdict on something that looks staged, edited or obviously untrue. Viewers recognise the timing straight away, the stretched word builds the punchline and the metal sound seals it like a stamp, turning a simple fake claim into a memorable reaction moment.

Smosh began as a long running YouTube sketch comedy channel created by Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, known for loud, overacted reactions that translate well into short clips. This stretched fake shout follows that style, pairing a theatrical accusation with a metal sound for extra impact. As Smosh moments were ripped into soundboards and meme edits, the clip took on a life of its own as a standalone callout. It is still used because the meaning is instant, even for viewers who do not know the original sketch context.

What is the Smosh Faaake sound?

It is a short reaction clip of someone shouting fake in a long, exaggerated way, followed by a metallic clang. The over the top delivery makes it work as a joke accusation for staged, edited or obviously untrue moments in videos.

Where does the Faaake sound come from?

The clip comes from Smosh, the YouTube sketch comedy channel known for loud characters and exaggerated reactions. This particular shout was lifted from that style of comedy and spread on its own through soundboards, meme edits and reaction videos online.

How do creators use the Faaake sound effect?

Creators drop it at the exact moment a lie, fake prop or bad edit is exposed. The stretched shout builds the joke, then the metal hit acts like a punchline stamp, so it works best on a reveal, freeze frame or hard cut.
