Mr Herbert's creepy 'Hey kids' line from Family Guy, used as a meme sound for awkward, unsettling or joke predator moments in videos and streams.

This clip captures Herbert, the elderly neighbour from Family Guy, delivering his unsettling greeting to children in his slow, wheezy, overly friendly voice. The delivery is deliberately creepy rather than loud, with a sing-song warmth that makes the line feel wrong in a funny way. That contrast is the whole joke: an innocent-sounding hello lands as a warning sign, and listeners instantly recognise the character behind it. Played on its own it feels awkward and slightly sinister, which is why editors use it to flag a character, a situation or a punchline as suspicious before anything else happens.

Herbert is a recurring character in the animated sitcom Family Guy, known as the elderly neighbour with an uncomfortable interest in young boys. His greeting became a widely shared reaction clip online, passed around in memes, edits and soundboards long after its original episode aired. The humour depends on recognition: viewers who know the show immediately understand the implied joke without any explanation. Because the line is short, distinctive and instantly recognisable, it continues to appear in short-form videos, streams and reaction edits as shorthand for something creepy.
