इस ध्वनि के बारे में

The 1UP sound effect from Super Mario Bros is the bright ascending chime that plays when you gain an extra life, now used for wins and level ups online.

This is the classic extra life chime from Super Mario Bros, a quick rising arpeggio of bright 8-bit notes that climbs in under a second. The tone is clean, cheerful and instantly recognisable, with that hollow square wave sound of the original NES hardware. Hearing it signals success without needing any words, like the game itself is rewarding you. Creators use that built in feeling of achievement to mark a small victory, a correct answer, a power up moment or a joke where something unexpectedly goes right for once.

The 1UP sound comes from Super Mario Bros, released by Nintendo for the NES in 1985 with music and effects by Koji Kondo. In the game it plays when Mario earns an extra life, usually from a 1-Up Mushroom or collecting enough coins. Its short rising melody became one of the most recognised cues in gaming as Mario spread worldwide through sequels, remakes and emulation. Online it survived as a shorthand for levelling up, respawning and turning an ordinary moment into an achievement.
