Hells Bells 3rd Down

The tolling bell and guitar intro from AC/DC's Hells Bells, played in stadiums on third down to hype the defense and rattle the opposing offense.

This clip opens with the slow, ominous toll of a church bell from AC/DC's Hells Bells, followed by Angus Young's clean, echoing guitar riff building into the full rock groove. In American football stadiums it has become the classic third down cue: the bell signals danger for the offense, the crowd gets louder with each toll, and the defense feeds off the tension. The sound feels heavy, ritualistic and intimidating rather than fast or celebratory, which is why a few seconds of it instantly raises the stakes of a play, a highlight or an entrance.
