इस ध्वनि के बारे में

A loud scream from Tom the cartoon cat, yelling in pain and shock after a trap backfires. Used in edits for sudden fails, scares and over-the-top reactions.

This clip is a sharp, drawn-out scream from Tom lasting just over two seconds, starting loud and staying at full panic until it cuts off. The voice cracks with pain and disbelief, the kind of yell Tom lets out when a mousetrap snaps, an anvil drops or one of his own plans explodes in his face. It needs no context to read as extreme overreaction, which is why it lands instantly over gameplay fails and real-life mishaps. The abruptness makes the moment feel bigger and sillier than it actually was.

Tom is the blue-grey cat from Tom and Jerry, created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for MGM in 1940, whose exaggerated screams were originally performed by Hanna himself. Those yells became a defining part of slapstick cartoon sound design, recycled across decades of shorts, TV revivals and films. Short clips like this two-second version spread through Brazilian soundboards and meme pages under names like Tom gritando, where creators reuse the familiar panic to punctuate fails, scares and cartoon-style injuries without needing any dialogue or setup.

अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न

What is the Tom scream sound effect?

It is a two-second clip of Tom the cartoon cat letting out a loud, high-pitched yell of pain and shock. The scream is instantly recognisable from Tom and Jerry chases and is used as an exaggerated reaction sound.

Who originally voiced Tom's screams?

William Hanna, co-creator of Tom and Jerry, performed many of Tom's original screams, yells and vocal effects in the classic MGM shorts. Later productions reused recordings of his voice or had new actors imitate that frantic style.

How do creators use this sound in videos?

Creators drop it at the exact moment of a fail, jumpscare or painful mishap to make the reaction feel huge. It works best unaccompanied, timed to a zoom, freeze frame or sudden cut for comic effect.
