À propos de ce son

The orange portal gun firing sound from Portal 2, used in edits, game clips and memes when something opens, teleports or switches instantly.

This clip is the sharp electronic firing sound for placing the orange portal in Portal 2. It starts with a quick mechanical snap and a bright sci fi energy burst, then drops off almost immediately, so it feels clean and precise rather than explosive. Because the sound is short and instantly recognizable to players, it works well for cuts that show a door opening, a character warping somewhere else, or a sudden change in perspective. It gives a scene a clever, high tech feel without overpowering the moment.

This sound comes from Portal 2, Valve's puzzle game released in 2011, and is associated with the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device creating an orange portal. The effect spread through gameplay videos, machinima, and short edits because it is brief, distinctive, and easy to line up with visual transitions. It is still used by creators who want a recognizable game sound for teleportation, clever reveals, or fast cuts that imply space bending technology.
